Thinking of serving in Planet Faith?
Mission
To partner parents in helping their children know, love and enjoy Jesus forever!
Vision
Children transformed by the gospel of Jesus Christ, through God’s Word, in the context of loving relationships
Character
- Godly character
- Team player
- Teachable
- Gospel conviction and knowledge of God
PF Teachers are Christ-centred individuals with a strong relationship with God, sound biblical knowledge, and are role models for children (1 Timothy 3). We are team players who are open to learning, teaching and nurturing our little ones. We align with both Planet Faith’s and The Crossing Church’s vision and mission, whilst being regular in Sunday gatherings and CG.
Expectations
- Prepare, lead, teach
- Build relationships
- Modelling and growth
Leading and nurturing children in their faith each Sunday, PF Teachers edify and teach the gospel in a safe, loving space. We build lasting relationships with both kids and parents alike, with a commitment to grow in Christ-likeness. Work closely with fellow teachers and leaders, attend lessons and trainings punctually, and meet to pray and prepare before each class.

FAQs
- Will I be expected to teach upfront immediately?
- Definitely not right away! PF lessons contain a wide range of activities, such as praying, crafts, facilitating table discussions, and teaching upfront. As a PF Teacher, you will get to learn and grow in each of these different roles, while being guided and modelled by our more experienced Teachers.
- I have little or no experience in teaching children. Is that okay?
- Of course! For our first-year and first-time teachers, we intentionally look out for and train you up in all aspects of PF class management. Experienced Group Leaders and Teachers will walk alongside you to grow in the role. Our quarterly LevelUp trainings are also aimed at equipping you for the role.
- How often will I be teaching? What is the commitment period?
- PF Teachers serve on Sundays on alternate months, e.g. Jan, Mar etc. This allows Teachers to still be consistent with attending regular Sunday services. The minimum commitment period of serving is 1 year.
- If I’m teaching, does that mean I won’t be able to attend service?
- We highly encourage that you attend other services in person when possible! If you aren’t able to do so, PF Teachers are also provided the links to recorded services.
- What is the difference between a PF Teacher and Assistant Teacher?
- The Assistant PF Teacher role is only offered to Youths or Parents with young children, where they will serve half of the usual PF Teacher load.
- I am unable to make one or more LevelUp Training dates. Is that alright?
- LevelUp Trainings are essential to your growth as a PF Teacher. We do understand that individuals may not be able to make the specified dates and times. If you aren’t able to, just let your Group Leader know and we can see how best to accommodate!
